
Phil Sher is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM practitioner and a Certified Retirement Counselor with more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, including the last 20 years exclusively in the comprehensive wealth management and retirement planning arena. As the Founder and Managing Director of The Sher Wealth Management Group, an independent Boston, Massachusetts-based investment services firm, Phil's vision is to provide exceptional service and help his clients confidently pursue their financial goals.
Phil is a an experienced financial professional who provides proactive wealth management and retirement planning for clients and their loved ones. His balanced services include comprehensive financial and retirement planning, cash flow analysis, asset allocation, risk management and estate planning.
Phil began his financial services career in 1986 with A.G. Edwards & Sons as a Financial Advisor. He then spent more than 14 years with Thomson Financial Services and Fidelity Capital developing and marketing portfolio management software to asset management firms around the world. Now, as Managing Director of The Sher Wealth Management Group, and a branch manager for LPL Financial, he serves his clients with independent guidance.
Raised in Worcester, Massachusetts, Phil is a 1980 graduate of Bentley College in Waltham, and he holds a Certificate of Special Studies in Administration and Management from Harvard University - University Extension. He also completed the Boston University prestigious CFP® Board - Approved program. He continues to educate himself and remains active in the financial services industry. He holds his Series 7, 63 and 24 securities registration with LPL Financial and is a past board member of the Boston Estate Planning Council, a member of the Massachusetts Financial Planning Association and sits on the investment committees of several nonprofit organizations.
Community service is important to Phil, as well. He is the third generation Sher, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, to serve as President of the Jewish Health Care Center and Eisenberg Assisted Living Facility. He recently served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the JCC Greater Boston and has donated his time as a board advisor for the Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center.
Phil is happily married with two children. He enjoys skiing, playing basketball, golfing, travel and boating with his family.
